CATHAY INDUSTRIES provides yellow iron oxide pigments with extra-low viscosity characteristics, so-called LV Grades. For ten years already, the manufacturer offers these products under the CATHAYCOAT™ brand as premium iron oxide range. Lately, the company has started promoting its High Chroma Reds, another new dimension for iron oxides.
Tongling, 26 August 2015. In its manufacturing site in Tongling, China, CATHAY INDUSTRIES has put its new state-of-the-art spray dryers in full operation. The dryers have the capacity to turn out a total of 20.000 metric tons of micro-granulated pigments per year.

At a site of 200 hectares, CATHAY’s operations in Tongling, Anhui Province, has production equipment located in over ten different buildings. From here the company provides the raw pigments, which receive their finishing treatment for various application areas in its plant in Yixing (Jiangsu Province). In the course of 2014, the initial construction phase for the pigment production and the manufacturing test phase have been completed successfully. The initial capacity of 60,000 metric tons per annum is on stream with immediate effect. Once fully completed, the Tongling plant will boost the total manufacturing capacity of CATHAY INDUSTRIESGroup to over 200,000 metric tons yearly.

In a recent interview with the European Coatings Journal, Axel Schneider, CEO of CATHAY INDUSTRIES Europe, describes the current climate of ongoing investments in the global market of iron oxide pigments despite the rather moderate market growth expectations. He refers to all three major suppliers of iron oxide products having announced significant investment plans, all three for different motivations. He also underlines that the growth strategy of CATHAY INDUSTRIES Group is to continue.

In its biannual appearance the European Coatings Show is going to open its doors in Nuremberg again from 19 to 21 March 2013. The event attracted 25,000 visitors and 887 exhibitors in 2011 and is appreciated as the most important trade show for coatings, adhesives, sealants and construction chemicals in Europe.

CATHAY PIGMENTS USA has been merged with CATHAY INDUSTRIES USA, its parent company, to consolidate operations in the US. The surviving entity will bear the name CATHAY INDUSTRIES USA, INC. The change is effective immediately.
