Siennas are one of the oldest pigments used by mankind. These natural iron oxides are known for their durability and are considered a permanent pigment. Raw Siennas are lightfast with good chemical resistance as well.
Hoover Color’s 204RS balances the need of product quality and cost. This pigment disperses on high speed equipment to a lower level than Hoover’s other grades, but still achieves a 4-5 Hegman. Media milling will reach higher grind specifications as well. Raw Siennas are used in almost any application, but are most often recognized as a prime pigment for wood stains and glazes. With their transparency and yellow tone, these pigments help to create the look of oak and pine wood finishes.
